Judy Shiner is a Toronto-based Production Designer and Prop Stylist with over twenty-five years of experience in television commercials and stills.
Judy brings an exceptional visual sensibility to every project, creating environments that are both cinematic and authentic. A true collaborator and creative problem solver, Judy is committed to bringing a director’s vision to life while expertly navigating the inevitable challenges of production.
She is fluent in the language of production - calm under pressure, sharp in communication and always up for the next creative challenge.
From building a Bangkok night market with neon and noodle stalls to designing an aspirational living room from the clients’ mood boards for a laundry spot, Judy is comfortable both in the studio and on location.
In addition to her extensive commercial work, Judy has Art Directed several TV series, including “Kal Penn Approves This Message” (Freeform, 2021) and “Stay Tooned” (CBC Gem 2022). She created promotional press environments for Jennifer Lopez for “Unstoppable” (Amazon Prime, 2024), Harry Styles for “My Policeman” (Amazon Prime, 2022) and the stills shoot promo for Beast Games (Amazon, 2024)
And YES, she was the Art Director for the original Degrassi....WAAAAY BEFORE Drake!! Her work on the iconic, award-winning series is included in the documentary “Whatever It Takes”, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) in September, 2025.

Outside production, Judy has volunteered at The Distress Centre, The Assaulted Women’s Helpline, JIAS Toronto refugee settlement and has served on Gala Fundraising Committees for the Canadian Film Centre, Young Peoples Theatre and ICRF -The Israel Cancer Research Fund
