Judy Shiner is a Toronto-based Production Designer and Prop Stylist with over twenty-five years' experience in television commercials and stills.

Judy has an exceptional visual sensibility and aesthetic eye, and works collaboratively to bring a director’s vision to life with originality and emotional resonance. With a deep knowledge of filmmaking, Judy creates environments that are both cinematic and authentic.

From building an entire Bangkok night market with neon and noodle stalls, to sourcing an exquisite antique silver spoon for a macro tabletop shot to designing the perfect aspirational living room from the clients’ mood boards for a laundry spot, Judy is comfortable both in the studio and on location. She is fluent in the language of production - calm under pressure, sharp in communication and always up for the next creative challenge.

In addition to her extensive commercial work, Judy has Art Directed several TV series, including “Kal Penn Approves This Message” (Freeform, 2020) and “Stay Tooned” (CBC Gem 2022).

And YES, she was the Art Director for the original Degrassi....WAAAAY BEFORE Drake!! Her work on the iconic, award-winning series is included in the documentary “Whatever It Takes”, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) in September, 2025.

Outside production, Judy has volunteered at The Distress Centre, The Assaulted Women’s Helpline, with JIAS Toronto to settle an Eritrean refugee family, and has served on Gala Fundraising Committees for the Canadian Film Centre, Young Peoples Theatre and ICRF -The Israel Cancer Research Fund.
